Scuderia Ferrari is a truly unique brand
The 23rd of September 2017 saw the return of the Ferrari marque to Kyalami. The occasion: Ferrari Day, undoubtedly Africa’s largest gathering of supercars from Maranello.
The event was expertly organized by SEFAC (Southern Equatorial Ferrari Automobili Club). The annual Kyalami event is one occasion when members of the world’s oldest Ferrari owners’ club have unrivaled access to the, new and improved, 4.26 km circuit.
Great cars were on display for all to marvel at. The day featured the all-new 488 GTB, a unique 250 GT from the sixties and the fire-breathing F40 – the car that introduced the world to supercars.
Sponsored by Shell V Power Nitro+, the event was almost perfect. Spectators were given the privilege of viewing the vehicles on the main straight – getting up close and personal with the cars they love. Food stalls were available for everyone with different tastes; boerie rolls, Chip n Dip or even Ice-cream and a cold beer (not taken together, obviously).
Shell and SEFAC took care of their VIPs having food, drinks and a relaxation area at their disposal throughout the day. Those who are competitive were also on Cloud 9 in the VIP area making use of the Formula 1 Simulator competing for the fastest time – and a Ferrari hamper.
I interviewed Shell Brands Fuel and Cluster Manager, Frans Maluleke, before the event who was exceptionally excited about the Shell V Power Nitro+ and SEFAC Experience Day. Maluleke stated how the day was a big thank you to Shell customers for their loyal support. Proceeds were given to charity which made the event all the more special. Maluleke added “The proceeds that are coming from the tickets will be donated to The Smile Foundation”.
Talking about the new fuel launched by Shell, “this year we introduced new Shell V Power with Dyna Flex Technology“. This fuel restores up to 100% engine performance.
Talking to Parking Lot SA on Voice of Wits, Frans also gave away tickets to the event on air. Feel free to tune in every Friday from 15h45-16h00 on 88.1 VoW FM.
